Since 2008, thousands of people from the gaming community have pledged to play games to help save the lives of sick and injured kids through Extra Life – a gaming event in support of Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.  Friends and family support their gamer’s efforts knowing their money is going to stay local and help kids in their community.

Extra Life is for everyone and makes it easy for gamers to help kids while doing what they love.  While many of our participants play video games, gamers can play whatever they’d like.  Tabletop games, card games, basketball – anything!
  1. Be sure to sign up at extra-life.org/team/yegextralife2015.
  2. Ask your friends and family to sponsor you with a donation online.
  3. During Animethon, play games for your local children’s hospital.

LAN Gaming Q&A:

Can I bring my own computer?
No. Unfortunately BYOC is not supported this year. However this may be a possibility in the future if LAN gaming shows enough popularity. So stop by for a bit anyways!

Will I be able to bring my own equipment?
Yes! Personal keyboards, headsets, mice, and the likes will be allowed in the computer room. No separate monitors, computer towers, or open speakers will be allowed.

The computers don’t have the game I want to play; may I install it?
Please don’t install any separate games onto the computers! You may tell a staff member you would like to see that game at LAN gaming in the future though. Can I come play games even though I don’t have an Animethon wristband/pass?: Nope! Please support the convention and buy a wristband/pass before you stop in to play.

I wanna play games, but all the computers are taken. What now?
You will just have to wait for another computer to open up. Sorry! I came to play games and only games, is there a time limit to how long I can stay?: There is no time limit currently set for how long you may use a computer. However we do suggest taking breaks every so often and checking out the rest of the convention; there’s so much to see and do!

Are walk-ins for the league tournament allowed?
If all the spots are already filled, then no. However if there are open spots to join the tournament, you and four other people may apply to play. Pre-made teams ARE required!

My team has a bronze ranked member, can we still apply?
Yes you may! Rank does not matter to us.

There are already 8 teams signed up for the tournament; can I still apply?
No. Once the 8 teams are filled, that’s it. Although if one of the team's drop out during registration time, that spot will open up for grabs.
