Japanese Lolita Fashion Show
Animethon and the Edmonton Lolita Fashion Community are proud to present the "Japanese Lolita Fashion Show" featuring AKIRA.
Lolita style is a Japanese street fashion known for its elegance and modesty. It began in Harajuku in the 1970s, but was first inspired by Rococo and Victorian period clothing. It can now be found all over the world and has evolved to incorporate many aspects of modern Japanese "kawaii" fashion. The three main styles are sweet, classic and gothic, which can all be worn by either men or women. Dresses and skirts with a poofy petticoat are very popular, as well as vests and pants for an "ouji" or "prince" look.
