A Taste of Animethon is proud and honoured to have Reika's first appearance in Canada!

I'm REIKA, a Japanese cosplayer based in Osaka. At present, I join events in Asia, Europe, the United States and South America. I've been cosplaying for 20 years and have made more than 500 costumes. I also hold workshops on wig setting, make-up and costume making.

Colleen Clinkenbeard

Colleen Clinkenbeard is a voice actor and director whose work can be heard in over 100 anime and video game titles. Best known for playing the English voices of Gohan and Android 18 in Dragonball Z Kai, Monkey D Luffy in One Piece, Erza Scarlett in Fairy Tail and Riza Hawkeye in Fullmetal Alchemist, Colleen can also be heard in the video games Borderlands I and II as Lilith, Patricia Tannis and Captain Scarlett. Two of her favorite roles include Hana in Wolf Children, and Momiji in Good Luck Girl.

As a director, Fullmetal Alchemist is what put her on the map; but she’s also worked on such projects as Black Butler, Panty and Stocking with Garterbelt, and Steins;Gate. For a full listing of her work, check her out on Wikipedia.

Misako Aoki

Misako AokiModel, nurse, Kawaii Ambassador, and author Misako Aoki is well known in the Lolita world.

She made her debut as a Lolita fashion model in KERA magazine and the Gothic Lolita Bible. In 2009 she was officially appointed as the Japanese Kawaii Ambassador by the Japanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs to promote Japanese fashion and kawaii culture across the globe. So far she has been to 20 countries and over 30 cities across the globe to promote Japanese pop culture.

In 2009 she founded the Japan Lolita Association to further unite the global Lolita community. As founder and president she aims to spread her love and passion for Lolita Fashion to every corner of the globe. Her hope is that people will fall in love with Japan through Lolita Fashion.

The 404s Improv

Misako Aoki Back for their flagship show! The 404s have been going strong for well over a decade, providing buckets of nerdy laughs at anime and fandom conventions around Canada and the US.

Animethon is one of their favourites, and they mean to prove it by performing comedy shows all weekend long.

TheIshter

A talented self-studying pianist best known as the YouTube sensation TheIshter, he self-arranges piano performance featuring songs from popular anime. TheIshter is best known for SAO and AnoHana piano covers as he occasionally transcribes piano sheet music to fellow fans.

Winter Sextet Melodies

After a successful debut at the summer event, A Taste of Animethon 2016 is happy to have the Edmonton Concept Pop Orchestra back to perform an anime and game Sextet for us on Friday night!

The Edmonton Concept Pop Orchestra is a orchestra newly formed by Shawn Gan. It is made up of talented musicians who are very versatile in their playing and appreciates many different styles of music. Members consist of students of MacEwan University, University of Alberta, Royal Conservatory, and even self-taught musicians. The idea of the orchestra is to play music that are more easily accessible and widely enjoyed by the general audience.
