LAN Gaming Q&A:

Can I bring my own computer?
No. Unfortunately BYOC is not supported this year. However this may be a possibility in the future if LAN gaming shows enough popularity. So stop by for a bit anyways!

Will I be able to bring my own equipment?
Yes! Personal keyboards, headsets, mice, and the likes will be allowed in the computer room. No separate monitors, computer towers, or open speakers will be allowed.

The computers don’t have the game I want to play; may I install it?
Please don’t install any separate games onto the computers! You may tell a staff member you would like to see that game at LAN gaming in the future though. Can I come play games even though I don’t have an Animethon wristband/pass?: Nope! Please support the convention and buy a wristband/pass before you stop in to play.

I wanna play games, but all the computers are taken. What now?
You will just have to wait for another computer to open up. Sorry! I came to play games and only games, is there a time limit to how long I can stay?: There is no time limit currently set for how long you may use a computer. However we do suggest taking breaks every so often and checking out the rest of the convention; there’s so much to see and do!

Are walk-ins for the league tournament allowed?
If all the spots are already filled, then no. However if there are open spots to join the tournament, you and four other people may apply to play. Pre-made teams ARE required!

My team has a bronze ranked member, can we still apply?
Yes you may! Rank does not matter to us.

All the teams are already filled up for the tournament; can I still apply?
No. Once all the teams are filled, that’s it. Although if one of the team's drop out during registration time, that spot will open up for grabs.

Handheld Gaming
Handheld Gaming will also be welcome in this area, bring out your mobile phones and DS to join the fun! Exchange street passes, compete, or co-op with fellow players! There will be times for encouraged gatherings available. Local LAN only for DS, no internet will be provided.

Friday night will be featuring Hearthstone: Fireside Gathering. Pull up a chair and let’s play some Hearthstone! A Taste of Animethon is happy to host an official Fireside Gathering! It's free, incredibly fun, and you'll earn a special card back just for participating!

Saturday will be featuring gatherings for Nintendo DS games! Make new friends, exchange items, engage with other people thruough your streetpasses! (Note: Local LAN only, no internet will be provided)
  • 11:00 am to 1:00 pm – StreetPass Gathering
  • 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm – Pokemon & Fantasy Life Gathering
  • 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm – Monster Hunter & Animal Crossing Gathering
  • 5:00pm to 7:00 pm – Smash Brothers & Mario Kart 7 Gathering

*Note that these are just featuring titles; players are welcome to join in with other handheld games at any time. All events are just gatherings, no contests or prizes will be assigned.
