ASAPA Valentine's Day Event 2020!

 

OVERVIEW

The Alberta Society for Asian Popular Arts (ASAPA), who bring you Animethon, will be hosting our 2nd Winter event on Valentine's Day weekend. We look forward to enjoying this special day with everyone, and you're encouraged to cosplay. See you all there!

Available throughout the event will the non-competitive console gaming area, coat check, and concession stand. During the day the gym will be host to an Exhibitors area for personal sellers and Artist Alley plus several panels in our panel room. In the evening it will change over to a dance.

11:00 am to 10:30 pm (Day events till 6:00 pm, Dance at 7:30 pm)

 

WHERE

YMCA Family Resource Centre (9538-103A Ave NW) Map

This is a state of the art facility conveniently located downtown right next to the Edmonton Police Headquarters. There is a bus stop in front of the building and it is close to the LRT.

The building has an underground parking lot for reasonable rates and there are other parking lots near by.

 

ADMISSION COST

There will be an attendance cap of approximately 500.
Combo Pass tickets will be available for online sale on Friday, 13th December, 2019.
The remaining tickets will be available at the door.

There will be three types of passes available at this event.
  • $15 + Fees Combo Pass online ($20 at the door)
  • $10 Day only Pass (available at the door only)
  • $10 Dance only Pass (available at the door only)

Presented by Marisa Hudson & Nichole McIntyre We're back, you poor unfortunate souls! Will your reflection show who you are inside? Probably not but come sing along with us anyway.

Lip Sync Battle
Presented by David Moore & Brittany Ward Think you can you know your favorite songs well enough to lip sync to them? Prove it, in this king of the hill style game show.

Makeup 101
Presented by Makenzie Jensen Makeup 101, a look into the world of makeup and it’s basics. A live demonstration going over the latest trends and tips.

AMV Showcase
Presented by Vlad G Pohnert Enter into the world of AMVs as we showcase a variety of Anime Music Videos from all over.

Intro to 3D Printing Cosplay
Presented by Elise Ledwon & Emma Gold Description: "Learn the magical potential for 3D printing and cosplay! From the complete basics to advanced techniques, join me as I share all my secrets!"
