Grant MacEwan University

Animethon 19 will take place at the MacEwan University City Centre Campus in downtown Edmonton on August 10-12, 2012. Centrally located, the campus is within walking distance of many food establishments, a mall, and is where every Animethon has taken place since the beginning in 1994.

Located roughly in the middle of the province of Alberta on the North Saskatchewan River, Edmonton is also the capital city of the province. The Greater Edmonton Region, as of 2005, has a population exceeding one million making it one of the largest metropolitan areas in Canada. Edmonton is known for a number of different reasons. Below is a list of some well known features about our city.

  • Our scenic river valley is one of the most extensive in North America.
  • Home to one of the largest shopping malls in the world, West Edmonton Mall.
  • Edmonton is known as the Festival City and has many festivals; especially during summer.
  • We also have Fort Edmonton Park spanning 158 acres of parkland containing 80 historical buildings set in four unique eras of Edmonton's history from 1846 to 1920.
