Crossplay Contest

Welcome to the Crossplay Contest, where you will be portraying your cosplay character in 3 rounds of improv games for our judges and audience to determine our winners. You will be judged on multiple criteria, including staying in character and how funny you are.  

The crossplay contest is a 3 round contest consisting of improv games you will play while trying to stay in character of the character you’re crossplaying as. These will be judged by the following categories:

• Entertainment and/or Comedic value (how funny you are and how good of a performance you put on)
• Being  in character
• Technical points and/or sticking to the rules of the game (Start at max points and points deducted for each rule break)

Rules

1. To promote inclusivity, all individuals are welcome to enter the contest by cosplaying a character regardless of their gender identity or presentation. Cosplayers are encouraged to embrace creative interpretations, such as gender-bending, as long as it pays homage to the character being portrayed. Whether you identify as male, female, or non-binary, we celebrate your passion for cosplay and invite you to express yourself authentically within the spirit of the character you choose to portray.
2. If entering craftmanship, at least 50% of the costume must be made by the entrant.
3. Must be OK with performing improv games in front of an audience of people
4. Must arrive at panel 15 minutes prior to panel start time for check-in and game rules and warm-up.
5. The contest is an all-ages show, and all jokes and performance material must be appropriate for all ages
6. Must stay till the end of contests to be eligible for winning as all winners will be announced at the end of the contest
