Windrise Windband
Windrise Band is an edmonton wind and brass ensemble that performs their own arrangements of anime and video game music while in cosplay. They focus mainly on the music of the hit game Genshin Impact, and have recently been playing various selections from multiple anime soundtracks including Ouran Highschool Host Club, Naruto, Studio Ghibli, etc.
The band first started in May 2022 and had their first performance at Animethon 2022. They later performed at Edmonton Fan Expo in the following September. Their recent performance was at Otafest 2023, where they did a panel and a 30 minute set before the Masquerade Ball.
The members of Windrise are made up of all levels of musicians. The band focuses on playing their favourite anime tracks and having a good time while doing so! Their goal is to inspire others in the community to revisit an instrument they used to play or pick up an entirely new one!
