MAHO FILM

MAHO FILM is a Tokyo-based animation production company established in 2018. The company’s experienced staff and artists take the lead in planning, producing and distributing 2D animation and live entertainment productions for its audience in Japan and abroad to enjoy. Within all their programs, they strive to “work together to make magical works for people all over the world.” 

Some of their major works include “I’ll Become a Villainess Who Goes Down in History”, “Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp”, “I’m the Villainess, So I’m Taming the Final Boss”, “If It’s for My Daughter, I’d Even Defeat a Demon Lord”, “By the Grace of the Gods”,  and many more.

Their latest work, “Blue Miburo,” tells the tale of a group of swordsmen that aspire to change the world.  In March 2025, a second season was announced, much to the anticipation of fans across the globe.  

Kumiko Habara

Having worked for over a decade in the anime industry, Yokohama-born Kumiko Habara is a seasoned director, animator, and story-board artist. Her extensive list of credits spans many genres of anime, including credits in hits such as “Detective Conan,” “Hell Girl,” “Kuroko’s Basketball,” “Sailor Moon Crystal,” “Fruits Basket,” “Yu-gi-Oh Zexal”, "Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp" and many more. Ms. Habara’s most recent credit can be found as the director for MAHO FILM's “Blue Miburo,” a thrilling tale about a group of swordsmen who aspire to change the world.

Nobuyoshi Habara

Hailing from Fukuyama, Nobuyoshi Habara has over 40 years of experience in the anime industry, having contributed to a multitude of works as a director, key animator, as well as character designer.  He has worked on many reknown series such as “Star Blazers: Space Battleship Yamato, 2202” “Fafner in the Azure,” “Transformers (G1),” “Fullmetal Alchemist,” “Shaman King,” “Mobile Suit Gundam,” and many more.

Mayuka Kawasumi 

Mayuka Kawasumi from MAHO FILM is an accomplished young Animation Producer at the studio and has lent her talent to many of its popular works.   She has been highly involved in works such as “Doctor Elise: The Royal Lady with the Lamp,” “My Unique Skill Makes Me OP Even at Level 1,” and most recently, “Blue Miburo.”
