Welcome Cosplayers! We will be offering several Cosplay related events during Animethon 25. Please be sure to read and understand the outlines of each event given below. Our events are held between set times for scheduling reasons and no exceptions will be made for latecomers.

Please Note

  • Make sure you are aware of contest times and locations. Latecomers will be disqualified.
  • The Cosplay Repair Booth will be located in the Vendor Hall and open during Vendor Hall hours.
  • Send us your images and music as soon as you can to keep us up to date.
  • Arrive on time for the event.
  • There is no safe place to put your things while you’re in a contest, so make sure any valuables are kept with a trusted friend.

Cosplay Contest

Our main event! Ryu's Chibi Parade will take place first followed by our walk-on entrants and skit performances.
  • Registration is online until 2018-08-08 or in person Friday 2:00pm to 6:00pm at the Info Booth counter.
  • Check-in and pre-judging is Saturday 10am - 12:30pm in the Main Events Hall D. You must check-in in order to participate!
  • Rehersals are on Saturday 12:30pm in Main Events (Hall D).
  • Showtime is Saturday 2pm - 4pm in Main Events (Hall D)
  • Open to anyone in Cosplay willing to go on stage!

Cosplay Craftsmanship Contest

This is a contest specifically for our talented craftsmen who have made their own Cosplay or props! There are no performances, no audience, just a friendly chat with our judges about how you made your Cosplay!
  • Registration is online until 2018-08-08 or in person Sunday 10am - 12:30pm in Salon 7
  • Judging time is Sunday 10am - 1pm in Salon 7
  • Open to those who have made 80% or more of their Cosplay
  • No performance required.

Animethon Cosplay Champions

Denizens!  On Sunday, Nishi and Misaki are looking for Cosplay Champions! Will you accept their challenge and rise to fame and glory?  Choose either Nishi or Misaki to represent, display your number with pride then go forth and represent your mascot. Your fellow attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite challengers to see who will become Animethon Champions! Registration and voting will be located at the Assembly Level Foyer Info Booth.

  • This is a popularity contest following in the great tradition of prom royalty!
  • Entrants have two hours to register at the info desk counter, you will be asked for your name, character details and which mascot you want to represent.
  • You will be given a number and asked to pose for a photo for the slideshow. Display your number clearly so other people can see it as you walk about the convention.
  • Once entry closes we will switch to voting. Attendees have 4 hours to come and vote for their favourite champion for Misaki and for Nishi.
  • After voting closes we will tally the votes, winners will be announced at closing ceremonies.

  • Entrants must have a valid pass, no animals or inanimate objects.
  • Entrants must be in cosplay.
  • Costumes and props must be suitable and appropriate for all ages. Costumes and props should adhere to general Animethon Rules and Regulations including the Weapons and Props Policy. Questions about props or costumes may be answered, and exceptions may be made, by the Cosplay Coordinator or Head of Security depending on circumstance.
  • We will not tollerate any form of harassment.
  • Permission is granted to Animethon to use any photographs/video taken as future promotion material for future events and dealings. Secondary Media coverage may be present at the event. All media captured by Secondary Media will be under their rules and regulations of fair media usage and not that of Animethon’s.

Cosplay Repair Booth

The Cosplay Repair Booth will have some emergency supplies for you to patch your cosplay up. Note that this is not where you "make" your costume, this is only a place for you to repair your costume. Located in the Exhibition Hall and subject to hall hours.
